This vignette demonstrates how to retrieve chemical and ecotoxicological data from the Norman Network REST API using the core get_norman_data() function across its supported modules (susdat, ecotox, empodat, and passive). Additional package features include batch querying (get_norman_data_multi(), get_norman_empodat_batch_data()), flattening nested JSON outputs into data frames (extract_norman_fields()), loading API metadata definitions (load_api_definitions()), and partitioning local JSON files into subfolders (split_json_files_by_key(), split_json_files_by_pattern()).
library(normanR)
# Fetch substance data by CAS number using the core function
data_cas <- fetch_norman(
module = "susdat",
parameter = "casrn",
value = "1490-04-6",
format = "json"
)## Starting batch request for 1 items...
## Fetching data for casrn: 1490-04-6...
