COBS – Constrained B-splines (Version 1.0)
COBS is a constrained B-splines algorithm that computes constrained quantile curves using linear or quadratic splines. The median spline may be used as an attractive alternative to constrained smoothing.
A postscript version of the paper that describes the detail of COBS can be downloaded from http://www.cba.nau.edu/pin-ng/cobs.html
This is a beta version (no longer the case)
We do appreciate comments and suggestions. Please send bugs or problems to Martin Maechler maechler@stat.math.ethz.ch and also pin-ng@nau.edu or he@bahadur.stat.uiuc.edu
